Well the weekend of 14-16 was just jammed packed for us. Nerone is sooo upset. We have been out every night this week and now we are staying out past his bedtime.
Friday, we rode over with our friend Grace, to Castiglione del Lago to see the James Bond movie, Skyfall in English. I was quite tickled to do that. I got to sit inside in a warm place, drink beer, eat Italian Cheetoes and watch a movie in a theatre in English. Whoo hoo.
Ben walking in to Castiglione del Lago.
Afterwards we went out to dinner and did not get home until after midnight.
And then the next night we were off again to Lucignano to the Tuscan Gospel Festival.
We saw the Mildred Daniels Gospel Singers. I didn’t hold it against them that they were from South Carolina. They were a fine group.
It was hard to take pictures because they just didn’t hold still. They brought a huge amount of energy to the stage and actually had the whole audience dancing in the aisles. This is the first time I have seen such a reaction from the audience at one of these events. Usually I am the ONLY ONE caught up in joy of the singing. (as some of our more ‘proper’ friends will tell you) But this time the WHOLE audience was participating. That is a real feather in these folks’ caps.
Another great night and again it was after midnight before we arrived home. I cooked an egg for Nerone on Sunday to make up for it.
When Ken and I were visiting you folks, we took a trip to Cortona (?) one day and while high up, saw off in the distance the lake and town of Castiglione. Decided to drive there (not easily from the lousy Italian directional signs). We finally made it and loved the place…particularly enjoyed the castle walk.
