It is really summer when the okra and corn come in.  We are still waiting to see corn.  But okra is here.

Next to it is some of the cilantro that I am able to get from a nice farmer/vegetable merchant that has just opened down the road a bit from us.  Madre Terra, Via Don Riccardo Aguzzi 1, Alberoro (AR).    A very nice man that seems to be open to the idea of growing something different than everyone else.  He is supposed to have corn and sweet potatoes.  I am hoping to persuade him to grow snow peas next spring.

I pickled a jar of this okra.  The first time I have done that in 25 years or so.  It was tasty.  I’ll have to make some more soon.  It is just not fun to be boiling water to sterilize jars in 80 degree weather in a small un-air-conditioned kitchen.
